Bookkeeping

Reclaim your actual role, the one you're good at

Constantly switching between "Chef" or "Host" mode is exhausting. Throw in the anticipatory dread of the VAT bill, not to mention business rates and your staff cost, the late night worries keeping up at night all prevent you enjoying a job you should LOVE!

Whether you're doing it alone currently, or you have help you may be struggling with similar issues.

Your bookkeeping may be behind, you may not have a support you can bounce ideas off that you can trust at short notice, the software being used may or may not suit your business.

Great advice, an ear to bounce ideas off of, and a shoulder to cry on, shouldn't be an added extra. Financial advice doesn't always meet with operational reality. That's why our experience in the operation gives us a massive leg up, we don't only tell you you have a revenue problem, but suggest realistic reasons why it may be the case and can guide you on what to try to fix it.
1. Day-to-Day Bookkeeping

We check your account daily, reconcile weekly and provide you with a minimum of monthly set of basic advisory reports, and give you an indication of how much you could comfortable take out of the business yourself. We track key metrics such as average spend per cover, your food and drink costs as a percentage of revenue, revenue per labour hour and fixed costs per cover.

We compare this as frequently as makes sense for your business, for most businesses we start monthly and assess your needs directly.

2. Bank & Card Reconciliations

We reconcile your bank accounts, card machines, and payment platforms so every transaction is accounted for and nothing slips through the cracks. This gives you confidence that the cash you expect is the cash you’ve actually received, we use softwares, integrations, automations, and AI. If it still makes more sense for a person to do it (which if often does), we’ll do it ourselves.

We guarantee that you won’t be wasting your time hunting for £1.53 here and £2.64 there, we won’t let you off easy, but we won’t waste your time.

3. Pricing

All of our pricing is fixed fee and agreed up front. Our goal is to take as much of the stress off of your plate as possible. Accountants that charge by the hour do the opposite as you never know what your bill is going to be.

We provide you with a quote following our first meeting based on your business. All of our packages include Bookkeeping, Payroll, VAT Returns, Monthly Management Accounts, Annual Accounts and CT600s.

Prices tend to start from £400 + VAT and increase depending on the advisory services you need.

There’s no tie in, you can cancel at any time with 30 days notice, and the first 2 months are always free.

4. Working With Us

“Account managers” don’t exist at our practice.

You’ll speak to the right person at the right time. Our bookkeepers are based in the office here in Fleet, and are available on WhatsApp, Email, Phone calls and Zoom meetings.

Your advisory meetings will be held in person. We want to get to know you, your layout, your team, your systems and we can only do that if we’re “one of the team”.

The advisory accounts will be produced by a Chartered Management Accountant, so the numbers are technically sound. They’ll then be presented to you by a senior manager, someone who has been in your shoes, and worked on the floor in hospitality businesses.

Why This Is Important

Financial visibility is like the compass in orienteering, it's going to guide you in the right direction. The map varies from business to business. What few accounting practices tell you is that the ratios and figures presented to you are a report with no context, like pointing you north, without you know what lays that way.

We believe that understanding your map is vital to advise you properly. The position you're in will dictate the best course of action for you, we start by getting the best picture possible of this position to see if we can actually move the needle for you.

In truth, it takes time to get up and running to a point where you see value and see what we can do. In our experience this is roughly 2 months in, which is why we give you 2 months free. It gives us time to demonstrate value and if we don't, you've lost nothing.

Whilst the pricing may seem vague, it's hard to have a set price for every business and know we've covered all bases. Unlike an order of new plates, which has a tangible cost no matter who buys them, what it takes to do your bookkeeping could be wildly different to another business in a seemingly similar position.

There's no obligation to sign up on our call, we send you the proposal with a full breakdown of what you're getting, and ask you to come back to us when you've mulled it over. Our first piece of advice to you is to get more than 1 quote, and to speak to whoever in your life you feel confident with. Just saying it outlaid can be enough to help make your mind up, even if they don't know what you should do.

If you're super busy, but you can find 20 minutes to have a chat, then book a call with us today.
